The Ship Inn, in Boston’s London Road, was packed out when the fourth annual drag queen competition was held 45 years ago.

Some of the contestants in the fourth annual drag queen competition in Boston in 1977. Stage names among the 12 finalists included: Miss Isle, Miss Laid, Miss Lead, Miss Shape, Miss Demeanour and Miss Take.
Frazer Smith, of Wyberton (front, right) was the eventual winner.
The close runner-up was Steve Bagley, of London Road (back row, second left).
