The winner, chosen at the Toc H garden fete at Ingelow Manor, was Edna Moorcroft. Aged 54, she was grandmother to 15 children and mother of one son and three daughters.
Mrs Moorcroft paraded with a ‘bevy’ of 27 grandmothers before a panel of six judges.

The competition was organised jointly by Toc H and The Standard.
All the contestants received a prize and Mrs Moorcraft received a holiday in Skegness, champagne and flowers.
