NOSTALGIA: New traffic lights come into operation in Wide Bargate, Boston, in 1962
This was the scene in Boston 60 years ago as new traffic lights were installed at the junction of Wide Bargate, Tawney Street and Pen Street.
The installation followed inspection and approval by an official from the Ministry of Transport.
The lights came into operation ‘in good time for the Whitsun traffic pile-up’, the Standard wrote.
