NOSTALGIA: Swineshead school leading the area in brass lessons in 1980
Here we turn back the clock 40 years to find a group of youngsters at Swineshead Primary School.
The pupils – aged between eight and 10 – had began learning to play brass instruments, including the trumpet, the French horns, and the euphonium.
It was said to be the only school in the area where so many children were learning such traditional instruments and some suggested they should form their own brass band for Christmas.
