TEN YEARS AGO: Spilsby schools showcases improved facilities

Pupils at King Edward VI Humanities College, Spilsby, found a number of improvements to the site when they returned to lessons after the summer break 10 years ago.

A refurbished kitchen and dining room were among the treats awaiting them.

Gino’s Restaurant had been extended with cafe-style furnishings and a soft seating area with TVs.
There was also an outside terrace, a new servery, and a deli bar.

The improvements came about following funding from Lincolnshire County Council allocated to eight schools in the county.
Parents of Year Seven pupils had the opportunity to sample the new facilities themselves when they were invited to the West End school for lunch, as illustrated above.
