TEN YEARS AGO: Staff think pink ready for annual golf and charity day

The team held its annual golf and charity day for customers at the North Shore Golf Club with a view to boosting the funds of The Children’s Hospice and Breast Cancer Care.

Manager John Miles said the team arrived in Travis Perkins’ own specially designed pink lorry for the event, which raised £800.

He said: “There are 20 of these pink lorries that go around and when one branch has used it, the lorry gets passed on to the next.”
