The event involved pupils giving up a day of their February half-term to raise sponsorship money by taking part in the same activity between 9am and 9pm.
Activities for 2001 included: computing, five-a-side football, table tennis, model making, badminton, Scalextric, music, and board games.
One youngster even spent 12 hours riding around the school car park; another, meanwhile, roamed the corridors in a gorilla outfit.
Proceeds from the event went to the school’s Charity Club.

Marathon gaming in 2001. For anyone interested, the game being played on the TV in the centre of the photo appears to be Driver 2. We had less to go on for the other game, just the presence of a Sega Dreamcast and the sight of some blurry skyscrapers; however, a Dreamcast owner from back in the day has impressively identified it for us as Sonic Adventure, specifically part of the intro (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_efv7ZGAdjo).
