Writer and performer Nick Wood presents A Girl With A Book at Lincoln Drill Hall this week.

The piece is inspired by events in 2012 when gunmen stopped a bus in Pakistan and shot three girls – for wanting to go to school.

Knowing nothing about the situation and able to offer little more than outrage a writer is forced to come out from behind his desk and go into the community searching for answers to help him tell the story of a brave young woman’s fight for girls’ education.
