Brontë, but not as you know it

Prepare to have your heights wuthered ... a Brontë adaptation with a difference comes to the Sleaford area this weekend.

Publick Transport present the critically acclaimed We Are Brontë at Harmston Memorial Hall on Saturday at 7.45pm.

The small-scale touring theatre company based in Bristol describe their mission as ‘not to bore audiences’ and come with a reputation for high energy, brilliantly funny productions.

A spokesman for the show said: “We Are Brontë is comic theatre inspired by the real and imaginary worlds of Yorkshire’s literary siblings, presented in Publick Transport’s irreverent style.

“Physical theatre collides with stand-up, clowning, and improvisation as two performers deconstruct not only gothic themes of love, madness, repression and revenge, but also themselves.

“Part play, part enquiry into the act of putting on a play, this promises to be no ordinary Brontë adaptation.”
