Halfords offers free car check and discounts for teachers, emergency workers and military staff

Halfords is offering a free car health check to teachers, emergency staff and members of the armed forces.

The 10-point check, which usually costs £15, covers vital elements such as tyre pressures and tread depth, light function, oil levels and battery and wiper conditions.

Any teacher, NHS or Health and Safety Executive staff, other emergency workers and members of the armed forces are eligible for the free check at a Halfords store or Autocentre by presenting their staff ID, Blue Light card or a Defence Discount Service card.

The servicing and accessories retailer is also offering staff a 10 per cent discount at all its retail stores.

To benefit from the offer, teachers will need to visit the We Are Discounts website for teachers website, NHS and emergency workers will be able to access theirs through the Blue Light Card and health service discounts scheme and members of the Armed Forces can claim theirs through the Defence Discount Service.

Graham Stapleton, Halfords CEO said: “Teachers, NHS and emergency workers and the Armed Forces are facing more challenges than ever before and the journeys that they make are now more vital than ever before, which is why we want to help them stay safe and roadworthy. We’re also offering 10 per cent off discount on their shopping at Halfords stores as a way of thanking them.”
