Nottingham Royal Concert Hall: Starlight Express. Runs until Sunday 2nd September. Sheffield City Hall: Last Laugh Comedy Club. Runs until Saturday 25th August. Performance time: 8.15pm. Featuring comedians Toby Foster, Brendan Riley, Craig Murray and John Ryan… John uses his wit and seemingly encyclopaedic knowledge of the world around him to keep the audience on their toes. Sheffield O2 Academy: Frankie Paul. Doors open at 11.55pm. Frankie Paul is one of Jamaica’s best-loved and popular dancehall reggae artists. Born blind, he has been dubbed by some ‘The Jamaican Stevie Wonder’. Tickets £15.

Renishaw Hall: Pride and Prejudice. Performance 6.30pm. Take a step back in time with Chapterhouse Theatre Company to meet Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters. Whilst her mother tries determinedly to pair her off with the detestable Mr Collins, Elizabeth meets the rude and abrupt Mr Darcy. But is there more to him than meets the eye? Join family and friends for what promises to be the most splendid evening of the summer as you picnic under a beautiful summer sky and revel in this most renowned of love stories. Sheffield City Hall: Open Mic Night. Doors open at 9.30. The national music talent competition for singers and solo artists in the UK which searches for the UK’s best singers, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists comes to Sheffield. Acts can perform either covers or original material throughout the competition. Open Mic UK offers entrants not only the chance to win prizes, but the opportunity to perform live in some of the best music venues in the country and the Grand Final is set for the best live music venue in the country – the 02 in London! Doncaster Civic Theatre: Calendar Girls. Tuesday 4th-Saturday 8th September. Calendar Girls. Performance 7.30pm, Saturday matinee 2.15pm. A group of extraordinary women, members of a very ordinary Yorkshire WI, spark a global phenomenon by persuading one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference. As interest snowballs, the Calendar Girls find themselves revealing more than they’d ever planned! Ice Productions present this hilarious and moving play based on this amazing true story. Butterfly is fragile, unworldly and prepared to sacrifice everything for the love of the handsome American, Lieutenant Pinkerton.
