Experience true luxury and charm

THE DREAM of escaping to another realm of luxury, class and sheer bliss can often seem a world away - but it’s actually a lot closer than you think.

Just a short drive past Clowne and Whitwell lies the historic and idyllic Mosborough Hall.

Set in what was originally a 12th Century manor house, the Best Western Plus Mosborough Hall Hotel is a truly historic Sheffield hotel - a chic but traditional haven of good taste.

Next to the modern glass-fronted bar sits the spacious yet comfortable dining area. Despite it’s grand setting, the furnishings and atmosphere of Mosborough Hall effortlessly provide the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern sophistication. Within the 800-year-old dining room you’ll find contemporary stylish furniture alongside pop-art portraits of Northern and Yorkshire heroes like Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker and John Cooper Clarke.

On their summer gourmet menu you can get three courses for just £21.

That would be brilliant value at most places but when you consider the standard of Mosborough Hall, that’s the bargain of the century. For a starter, I chose the chicken liver parfait, served with orange and parsley toast and onion chutney. It was rich, silky, smooth and bursting with mouth-watering flavour. My main course of confit chicken leg with mustard mash, summer cabbage and a thyme jus was nothing short of perfection. All of the elements worked together perfectly. Seriously, I’ve had dreams about this dish. I topped it all off with a Yorkshire Ice Cream sundae with cinder toffee and butterscotch sauce. There’s beauty in simplicity, and this made for a great full-stop to an astounding meal.

The service was a true testament to the immaculately high standards of Mosborough Hall. The staff were some of the most professional, polite and attentive that I’ve ever come across - they simply couldn’t have done any more.

If you want to extend your experience and decide to stay the evening, then I can’t recommend the accommodation at Mosborough enough. In beautiful and spacious bedrooms, they provide a vast double bed scattered with rose petals.

The hotel pay extraordinary attention to every detail. I can honestly say that it was one of the best night’s sleep that I’ve ever had in my entire life.

Their cooked and continental breakfasts can’t be beaten either - I’d strongly recommend hanging around to sample one. You won’t regret it.

Mosborough Hall is much more than a fine dining experience. It’s a little piece of heaven at an affordable price.

So, if it’s luxury, charm and impeccable quality that you’re looking for - make the escape to Mosborough Hall.
