Fairport Convention to provide a Valentine's soundtrack

Fairport Convention have been performing for almost 50 years and are credited with originating the British folk-rock genre.

The band has been through many changes but the current members retain a passion for live performance.

This current tour features a mix of long-established Fairport favourites and new material from their most recent studio album, Myths And Heroes, which was released in 2015.

The concerts also feature an opening performance by Brighouse-based singer-songwriter Roger Davies whose quirky and entertaining songs reflect his love of Yorkshire and its people.

Over the years, the band has received consistent critical acclaim and won a coveted BBC Lifetime Achievement Award, while Radio 2 listeners voted their ground-breaking album Liege & Lief The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time.

Their story has been celebrated with a major documentary on BBC Four.
