Lincolnshire social landlord launches Neurodiversity Experience to raise awareness and improve support

Social landlord Platform Housing Group is hosting an interactive event next month designed to increase understanding of neurodiversity and connect people with local sources of support.

The Neurodiversity Experience will take place at play centre, Imagine, on Chequergate in Louth on Thursday March 19, aimed at helping customers and community members better understand neurodiversity and the different ways people experience the world.

The event will feature the Autism Experience Bus, an immersive, sensory simulation that gives participants a powerful insight into what daily life can feel like for autistic individuals. Visitors will also have the chance to meet representatives from a range of partner agencies and community organisations, who will be on hand to offer advice and information on accessing local support.

Tom Piotrowski, Equality Diversity and Inclusion Manager at Platform Housing Group said: “The Neurodiversity Experience is about awareness, empathy and action. We want to create space where people can learn, ask questions and understand the barriers that neurodiverse individuals often face, whether that’s in housing, work or everyday life. It’s also an opportunity to listen to our customers’ experiences and ensure their voices shape our future services.”

Sharon Brown, Business Development Manager at Imagine said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Platform Housing Group to run a neurodiversity event at Imagine Louth next month. It’s a real privilege to host this and we’re grateful for the opportunity. A big thank you to them for making it possible!”

In addition to raising awareness, the event will help Platform gather feedback from neurodiverse customers about their priorities, challenges and ideas for improvements. This insight will support the organisation’s ongoing work to make services more inclusive and accessible for all.

Attendance is free but spaces are limited and participants must be aged 14 years or over. To book, visit https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/neurodiversity-experience-tickets-1982770274265?
