Folk star Eliza Carthy and The Wayward Band have a Baths Hall date

Eliza Carthy & The Wayward Band are coming to the Baths Hall later this year

Ground-breaking and multi-award winning singer and musician, Eliza Carthy, is recording a brand new album with a brand new band, The Wayward Band.

No ordinary ensemble, The Wayward Band is bursting at the seams with some of the finest players in recent times, including members of Bellowhead, Mawkin, Blowzabella, Edward II, Emily Portman Trio, Peatbog Fairies, Dreams of Tall Buildings and Tyde.

The album, entitled The Big Machine, is due for release in October and will feature traditional material, as well as classics from Eliza’s back catalogue and new tunes.

To support the new album and new project, the band are heading out on tour across the UK.

Eliza is the daughter of English folk legends Martin Carthy and singer Norma Waterson and has twice been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize for UK album of the year, first in 1998 for Red Rice, and again in 2003 for Anglicana.

She has also won multiple awards at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
