A multi-award winning singer and musician, Eliza Carthy, has recorded a brand new album with a brand new band, The Wayward Band.

No ordinary ensemble, The Wayward Band is bursting at the seams with some of the finest players in recent times, including members of Bellowhead, Mawkin, Blowzabella, Edward II, Emily Portman Trio, Peatbog Fairies, Dreams of Tall Buildings and Tyde.

The album, entitled The Big Machine, was released last month and features traditional material, as well as classics from Eliza’s back catalogue and new tunes.

To support the new album and new project, the band are heading out on tour.

Eliza is the daughter of English folk legends Martin Carthy and singer Norma Waterson.

She has twice been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize for UK album of the year, first in 1998 for Red Rice, and again in 2003 for Anglicana.

She has also won multiple awards at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

She is at the Baths Hall on Sunday, November 13.
