Not only that, the popular restaurant, bar and hotel has also retained its prestigious five-star status for luxury accommodation, only one of a select few in Lincolnshire to achieve this accolade.

Newly appointed general manager Scott Dunn was delighted with the double achievement.

“I am incredibly proud to join this team, who have achieved so much and continue to strive for perfection,” he said.

“Being from Lincolnshire, I have always thought of the Advocate as one of the best restaurants with rooms in the county.

“The business has had so much success over the years and we as a team are aiming for plenty more, whilst keeping our offering affordable and appealing to as many people as possible.”

Head chef Josh Kelly was equally pleased the business had again been recognised in this way.

“We are ecstatic that we have achieved a second year of two AA rosettes and also to maintain eight years of five star restaurant with rooms which shows the consistency we are always pushing for,” he said.

“It’s a great feeling to have the recognition of all the hard work that goes into planning and designing seasonal menus and specials throughout the year.”

The Advocate Arms was awarded its first AA rosette following the visit of a mystery diner in 2012 and 2016 saw the town centre business gain an entry in the Michelin Guide top 500 UK restaurants.

Katie Kireja, restaurant manager, said: “I feel it (the awards rating) is testament to the hard work, dedication and professionalism of our entire team.

“I am sure that with the help of our new general manager, Scott, we can continue and even improve on these already high standards.”

The Advocate Arms offers food from breakfast, right through to evening meal.

With the recent introduction of parking charges, it now offers reimbursement of fees to day time customers.
