Leonard Berisha ordered a special Valentine's box from Cyntha Kenina of Graze by Sin - hiding a ring inside a pink chocolate heart.

What his fiancee, Agnieszka Rogalska, hadn't told him was she had also ordered a special breakfast from Cynthia, who is her best friend.

"I was in the bedroom when Leonard called me through to the living room," said Agnieszka. "The first thing I saw was the lovely bouquet of different coloured roses.

"Then I saw the Valentine's box and Leonard asked me to break the chocolate heart - I tried but I couldn't crack it and he had to help me.

"Then I saw the ring box.

"Leonard opened it and knelt down and then asked me to marry him

"I was so surprised I was crying.

"Leonard told me he had been planning it for two months - he'd asked me before what I'd say and I always joked 'no'.

"But, of course, I said 'yes'.

"My mom was there and she was talking to my aunt on the phone - it was lovely."

Agnieszka, who comes from Poland, has lived in Skegness 16 years, met Leonard, from Albania, when she worked at San Rufos Italian restaurant in Skegness. They have been together two years and hope to marry when the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, hopefully in 2022.

Cynthia, who also worked at San Rufos before launching her own Graze by Sin business during lockdown, said she had fun preparing the Valentine's Day box.

She took a quick break from preparing her Pancake Day deliveries to say: "I'm just happy it all went well and would like to wish them both a happy future together."
