The Whichcote Arms reopened under under new management in Osbournby in 2023, but closed in November 2025.
Built as a coaching inn in 1864, the inn had opened a popular adjoining cafe and other businesses opened within craft and retail units converted from outbuildings centred around a courtyard.
The property is described by leisure property agents Fleurets as “full of character” and is a well-established local landmark.
The agents state that it currently features a bar and restaurant providing approximately 60 covers, six high-quality en-suite letting rooms, a three-bedroom owners’ flat, plus the self-contained café next door and a function room. Outside there is a courtyard seating area, a large secluded beer garden and parking for 8–10 vehicles.
The space for a village shop in the courtyard units is available by separate negotiation.
The property is being offered on a new, free-of-tie lease at a rent of £30,000 per annum.
Simon Hall, Director and Head of Agency North at Fleurets, said: “The Whichcote Arms is a substantial and highly versatile village operation, offering multiple income streams through its food-led operation, letting rooms, café and function space, drawing trade from the village and the surrounding area. The landlord is focused on ensuring the premises are ready to occupy, and the property is being offered on a new free-of-tie lease at a modest and flexible rent. It’s a great opportunity for a new operator to build on the success of this much-loved village inn.”
