The team by the Heckington Living magazine and online radio station had realised more and more people in the immediate Heckington area and surrounding villages were unable to access food and meals because they were isolating or had found themselves suddenly out of work or unable to work and earn money due to the lockdown.

Thanks to donations and fundraising, Heckington Community Larder was quickly set up in the village hall.

Co-ordinator ‎Sue Tucker‎ announced last week via Facebook from July 7 they will be moving to the former Royal Oak pub (Lyndsey James) after agreeing a two month lease with owners, Lincolnshire Co-op.

She said: “A huge thank you to the Lincolnshire Co-op for their support of this community project.

“We do believe that people will still find themselves in need of assistance through July and August as we continue to come out of lockdown. But we can only go so far with the funds we have. We need your continued support to run the larder for the community, by the community over the next two months.”
