From one cathedral to another

PART of an innovative cluster of sculptural installations by Martin Griffiths which was previewed at Lincoln Cathedral in March will be the centre piece of this year’s Marshchapel Arts Exhibition at St Mary’s Church Marshchapel, popularly known as ‘Cathedral of the Marshes’.

Martin’s works, which channel natural light and through their vertical emphasis are designed to reflect human aspiration in all its forms, are a key element in the Igniting Ambition Festival 2011; a three-county celebration in Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, and Rutland inspired by London 2012.

The sculptural work has already been represented at the Boston Stump and at All Saints Church, Nocton, and following its visit to Marshchapel in mid July will proceed to Scunthorpe and Sleaford.

The Marshchapel Arts Exhibition takes place on July 15 to 17 from 11am to 5.30pm each day, also featuring some 215 works from amongst the finest artists in Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire.
