Plans for 200-homes development on outskirts of Ruskington

Plans for a 200-home development have been submitted to North Kesteven District Council.

NJA Property Management wants to build the 160 open market dwellings and 40 homes classed as “affordable” on land to the east of Lincoln Road and North of Springfield Road, Ruskington.

In their application, the developer also states that 60 of the planned homes will meet “accessible and adaptable” requirements to “meet the needs of an ageing population and respond positively to one of the most important emerging planning issues for Central Lincolnshire and the country as a whole.”

“The site is expected to play a key role in supporting the delivery of much-needed additional housing as well as helping to meet the planned growth of Ruskington in a sustainable manner,” said the developers.

“There are understood to be no significant adverse impacts which arise from the application that would significantly and demonstrably outweigh the benefits of additional market and affordable housing.”

The site will be built in five phases, starting in the north-western corner and will include a number of open spaces (used as part of the sustainable drainage systems) and play areas.

The developers say the plans will create economic benefits including an extra £4 million spending power to the area, and an extra £350,000 council tax per year.

A new junction will be created to access the site from Lincoln Road, while an existing field access to the south-west of the site will be used to create a private drive for six of the houses.
