The Sanctuary has just been revealed as the the number one winner of Cottages.com’s Customer Choice Awards 2026, achieving a perfect 5 out of 5 stars customer rating from guests.

The awards recognize top-performing holiday properties across the UK, based solely on verified customer feedback and consistently outstanding guest experiences, comfort and hospitality.

This is the second year running the Lincolnshire property has achieved the prestigious accolade, but this year it came out top among a small number of cottages nationwide demonstrating a flawless review record.

Set within a medieval hamlet near Sleaford and thoughtfully styled by artistic owners, The Sanctuary is a dog-friendly barn conversion sleeping six with three bedrooms, a wood burner and a private enclosed garden with patio.

Built using salvaged materials from outbuildings which once stood adjacent to the main house and on part of the old village green, it combines contemporary comfort with rich local heritage and bold colours.

The owners built a it with a double-height ceiling and the slate roof was salvaged from the nearby Victorian Schoolhouse.

Offering a peaceful, luxury rural escape, it is also perfectly placed for exploring Heckington’s cafes and independent brewery and Sleaford’s independent shops, restaurants and centre for art, design and theatre.
