It’s time for town’s Octoberfest

A MONTH of celebration is upon us as Gainsborough’s annual Octoberfest returns.

Throughout October, the town will see a wide range of special events arranged by many different and diverse organisations that have worked in partnership with Gainsborough Town Council - kicking off with Lincolnshire Day.

“For the rest of the month the events and activities flow thick and fast with highlights including the Gainsborough Folk Festival which starts on the 14th October and the third Gainsborough Beer Festival which once again is being held in the beautiful Gainsborough Old Hall commencing on Thursday the 20th October until Sunday the 23rd October,” said Paul Leeder from Gainsborough Town Council.

“It is worth noting that this is a unique festival as far as we are aware in that it is the only beer festival in England held within an English Heritage building.”

He continued: “Over 30 organisations are holding events throughout the month and we are extremely grateful to all of them for the hard work that these wonderful people of Gainsborough have put in to enliven and enhance the quality of life in our town.”

“Please support them by attending and taking part in as many events as you can, and show everyone what a vibrant and fabulous town we live in.”

Lincolnshire Day on Saturday 1st October will see Gainsborough’s Co-Op store offering visitors the chance to come along to sample some local Tastes of Lincolnshire produce at the Home Store in the Market Place all day. Gainsborough Folk Club will also be celebrating Lincolnshire Day with a special concert from John Conolly and Brian Dawson at Corringham Village Hall.
