Lucky five chosen for Retford Fake Festival slots
Imp-Ferno, Propeller, Stolen Fridays, The Lost Days and Heads Will Roll, have all been hand-picked by Jez Lee, owner of Fake Festivals, to perform on the main stage.
Jez said: “It is a lengthy task selecting support bands for the festivals, and support submissions start rolling in from September 2015 onwards.
“We are very fortunate to receive hundreds of applications to perform on our main stage, and we do listen to each submission.
“There is no set criteria for choosing the artists, we just have a listen to them, check out their social media, and then decide if their sound is right for our event.”
“We do however like to ensure that the artist is professional, as we take the quality of our entertainment very seriously, and we do not want the crowds to be disappointed.
“We feel we get the right balance of original and covers artists which mixes the day up, and also gives up and coming bands a chance to showcase their music, in the hope that any media attending the event might pick up on them.”
Imp-Ferno will be warming up the stage for the main tributes with a set that features Tenacious D alongside Fleetwood Mac.
Propeller, from Retford, are a covers band with a rock edge who performing a mixture of old favourites and modern classics.
Stolen Fridays are no strangers to the Fake Festivals stage and their high-energy show features everything from Abba to The Killers.
The Lost Days are an energetic rock band who will be performing a mix of covers and their own original tunes.
And Heads Will Roll will be opening this year’s festival, performing a wide range of rock covers.
