Magnetic act at Drill Hall

A CAPELLA stars The Magnets are one of the must-see acts on the current British music scene and they are coming to the Lincoln Drill Hall on Thursday 29th September.

A a ‘six-man sound machine’, they will be bringing their glorious harmonies and jaw-dropping beatboxing to the Drill Hall for the second time, hot from a first major stage appearance at the Glastonbury Festival and high profile appearances on Comic Relief and the T-Mobile ‘Life’s for Sharing’ flash-mob commercials.

Highlights of the show will include a sultry Poker Face by Lady Gaga, an electrifying mash up of Are You Gonna Go My Way by Lenny Kravitz, a sun soaked Girls & Boys by Blur, and an incredible medley of movie themes from A-Z, with absolutely no musical instruments.

The group began man years ago when a few of the boys met performing the musical Guys and Dolls.

On discovering they sounded pretty good singing together they began to sing at student balls and parties.

Since then, the group has matured into Michael Welton, Nicholas Doodson, James Fortune, Stephen Trowell, Derek Elroy and the human beatbox himself, Andy Frost, guaranteed to leave you buzzing.

The Magnets have won great acclaim for the public and critics alike, with The Guardian stating: “A sonic phenomenon you have to see and hear to believe.”
