Mark Watson is on his way

COMEDY-LOVERS are being urged to snap up tickets quick - as top stand-up Mark Watson is heading to Lincolnshire in the new year.

As well his long and acclaimed career as a stand-up, selling out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and around the country, Mark is also host of the BBC’s We Need Answers and Mark Watson Makes the World Substantially Better, and has made famous appearance on the likes of Mock The Week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Have I Got News For You.

Mark says that every time he announces a set of tour dates, there are disappointed tweets from all corners of the UK not covered by his travels.

And so last year, via his daily blog (loved by everyone except Frankie Boyle) Mark invited fans to suggest destinations for his 2011 shows.

Over the past few months he’s been sifting these suggestions, weeding out ones like Gaza posted by people seeking to trap and kill him, and calculating the most popular choices from what remained.

During the course of his next tour, Mark will traverse the country to perform at over 50 specially requested towns - including Lincoln.

He promises to: “dole out a mixture of old favourites and new material, experimental stuff and greatest hits to those who have previously been deprived of his trademark frantic wit, rambling, emotional neediness from one of the UK’s most eager-to-be-liked comics trundling obligingly around the nation like some sort of remote-controlled car being driven by a lunatic.”
