Open arts festival 2011

Rotherham is brimming with excitement as it awaits the arrival of headline acts to the town’s open arts festival.

The world renowned Phoenix Dance Theatre comes to Rotherham’s Magna Science and Adventure Centre for the first time to perform Declarations.

It is an amalgamation of four innovative dance pieces set to storm Britain in their next tour.

The show promises to be an experience not to be missed. “The six core dancers look ready to take on the world,” The Times, September 2010.

Retina Dance Company will also be there.

Retina is a dance company with a unique style bringing their innovative performance Layers of Skin to Rotherham this November – with an exciting twist!

After spending a week training with the amazing Retina Dance Company, 12 people from the town will tread the boards at Magna performing alongside Retina’s professional dancers for this incredible one off performance of Layers of Skin.

The Rotherham Roots Exhibition opened on the 1st November showing a collection of innovative art work from a variety of local professional artists. More than 500 people have already rushed through the gallery doors on Corporation Street, Rotherham.
