Center Parcs will re-open most of its UK villages while Butlin’s will also see the return of some of its resorts.

However, it is bad news locally with Center Parcs’ Sherwood Forest site and Butlin’s at Skegness staying shut.

A spokesman for Center Parcs said: “We’re thrilled to announce that our UK villages, excluding Sherwood Forest, will be re-opening from Friday 4 December.

"After the necessary closure, we cannot wait to welcome our guests and staff back to the forest to enjoy our famous Winter Wonderland and Santa will be with us too to see the children in the run up to Christmas.“We are so excited to open our forest again, reunite our Center Parcs family and return to helping you create memories that will last a lifetime. The snow has been sprinkled, the lights are twinkling and Santa is ready and waiting.”

Meanwhile, Butlin’s has also issued an update.

A spokesman said: “It is with great sadness that due to Skegness falling into tier 3 and in line with the government guidance around the closure of hospitality venues, our resort will remain closed for all festive and New Year breaks up until the end of December.

“If your break has been affected, you will receive an email, SMS or letter from us asking you to fill in an online form to advise us of your preference, including a full refund.

“We’re happy to let you know our Bognor Regis and Minehead resorts will open from December 11.

"Our entertainment, pool and activities will run as planned and we can’t wait to welcome you for some festive fun.
