Sleaford WinterLight event sees 1,000 per cent boost in footfall for town

On Saturday, December 20, Sleaford Market Place hosted WinterLight, a community event celebrating the winter solstice and, according to organisers, the results were outstanding.
According to North Kesteven District Council, the footfall in the town centre was up 1,000 per cent.
An NKDC spokesperson commented: “Visitor numbers exceeded expectations, creating a vibrant atmosphere and driving significant economic benefits for local businesses. Footfall during event hours (3pm–8pm) surged by an impressive 1,064 per cent compared to the average of the previous three Saturdays.
“This increase translated into more customers for shops, cafés, and restaurants, reinforcing the value of community events in supporting the local economy.”
They added: “Thank you to all businesses who contributed to making this event a success.”
