Society is back with concerts and panto

The streets of Gainsborough will be paved with the gold this Christmas as Gainsborough Musical Theatre Society presents the family pantomime Dick Whittington.A whirlwind adventure for all the family, this show has action, adventure, secrets, songs, dancing, trickery, romance, shipwrecks and more.Follow Dick, Tommy the cat and the new friends they meet as they journey from London to Morocco on their quest to defeat the evil King Rat.The show is at Trinity Arts Centre in Gainsborough from December 6-10.Tickets are available now from the box office on 01427 676655 or http://bit.ly/2sSq0S5, or Barnes Jewellers in the town.Auditions for the show will take place on September 3 at the group's rehearsal room on North Street in Gainsborough, from 2.30pm.All subscriptions must be paid before the auditions.Fees are £20 membership if not already paid for the year and a £15 panto fee paid by anyone wishing to take part in the panto.Anyone who hasn't paid their subscriptions by then cannot audition for a part in the show.For full details, and to get a copy of the audition pack, please visit http://gainsboroughmusica.wixsite.com/gmtsAhead of the pantomime, the group is once again taking a musical journey through some of the most well known and loved musicals, old and new in a series of concerts in September.The group will be performing classics from musicals such as My Fair Lady, Miss Saigon, Wicked and more.The concerts are at St Paul's Church in Gringley on September 1, Lea Village Hall on September 2, St Maary's Church in Stow on September 8 and St Paul's Church in Morton on September 9.All concerts start at 7.30pm and tickets for all are £6 (£5 at Lea) and available on the door.
