Tribute band prepare for homecoming show

Tribute group The Ragdolls will take you on a musical journey through the well-known career of one of the most successful bands of all time Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

The locally-based group led by Shane Perkins have just completed the summer season at the Blackpool Pier show and have gone down a storm with their brilliant renditions of recreating the iconic Jersey Boys sound.

With hits including Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Oh What A Night, Walk Like A Man, Bye Bye Baby (Baby Goodbye), Sherry, Big Girls Don’t Cry and many more - this is a show that lovers of the classic pop will not want to miss.

Shane Perkins, 29, from Wingfield Avenue in Worksop said he was very much looking forward to the homecoming show.

“We’ve been fully booked during the season at the Blackpool North Pier which has now been extended,” he said. “The Worksop date will be our homecoming show, but we’ll still be returning to Blackpool as well as touring around the country.”

“The show is us and our four-piece band so everything is live and we do all of your favourite ‘shoo-wop’ songs.”

He continued: “I’ve got the main role of playing Frankie Vallie.”

“Those who know me and have heard me speak are surprised that I can pull off that iconic squeaky high voice!”

Shane went on: “The show has been really well received in Blackpool and has been pretty much the only show that’s been selling up there. We’ve been averaging about 400-500 people and can’t wait to take around the UK in theatres.

“Just come down and see a bit of local talent doing all they can to get out there and be heard.”

He added: “It’s a homecoming show so it will be great to see the people of Worksop there and supporting us.”

The Ragdolls present their Jersey Boys Tribute at The Acorn Theatre on Saturday 29th September.

Box office opening hours are 12pm - 3pm on Monday, Wednesdayand Friday and from 10am - 12pm on Saturday.
