Trinity Arts’ £200k grant

The Lincolnshire One Venues (LOV) consortium has announced that an application to the Foundation, for just under £200,000, has been successful.

Now, LOV is embarking on a three-year project that will provide young people with opportunities to become more deeply involved in the LOV venues and with the artists who use, work and perform in them.

A spokesman said: “The project will mean that Lincolnshire’s young people can develop as aspiring artists, programmers, promoters, consumers, critics and creative entrepreneurs.”

West Lindsey District Council’s vice-chairman of the Prosperous Communities Committee Cllr Gillian Bardsley said she was thrilled that more can be done to help the young people of the district.

“The funding will pay for a Project Manager and three Project Workers and they will be working across all the LOV venues to increase youth participation in the arts,” she said.

“Thankfully Trinity Arts Centre is one of these venues. The youngsters will be able to get involved in many events including programming and directing. It could maybe encourage them in their choice of career too.”

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s Head of Arts Régis Cochefert added: “We are pleased to be supporting a project that sees so many organisations coming together from across a range of rural settings.

Régis continued: “It will be exciting to see how the dynamics of artistic programming change in the venues through the deeper involvement of young people.”
