WIN! Tickets to Dot to Dot Festival in Notts

ONE of the most exciting multi-venue music festival in the UK, Dot To Dot has teamed up with The Guardian to give you the chance of winning one of two pairs of tickets.

Helping to propel bands forward on their way to big things and welcoming in some of the coolest acts from around the world, Dot To Dot takes place in Nottingham on Sunday 3rd June and has put acts such as The xx, Mumford and Sons, Florence and The Machine and Metronomy on the map.

Gracing this year’s event will be a kaleidoscope of new talent such as New York’s The Drums, the fiery live show of Pulled Apart By Horses, the beautiful vocal talent of Willy Mason, Wavves, Willis Earl Beal and Notts lads Dog is Dead

For just £20, a Dot To Dot ticket gives you access to over 100 bands across more than five venues.

Reporter Andrew Trendell spoke to festival boss Anton Lockwood.

The thing about Dot to Dot is that it’s a great mixture of new music and more established bands – but new music is what it’s all about really.

“You look at things like South By South West Festival and that’s more for industry-types but this is for music fans,” said Anton. “You get so many bands for your ticket so it’s great value for money, it’s really accessible and it’s a brilliant way to spend a day and Bank Holiday Weekend.”

“Last year in Nottingham, we closed off Talbot Street for the first time and had some stalls there which really added to the festival atmosphere. There’s a lot of people around getting excited about the bands and everyone’s there for a good time. It’s all the fun of a normal festival but without the mud and in the middle of a great city.”

He added: “For a pretty small amount of money you can watch a lot of bands, have a few beers and a party – what could be better?”

As well as some of the hottest names in music, Dot To Dot also showcases some of Notts’ best bands.

Anton continued: “More and more Notts bands are playing on merit because they’re just excellent and doing good things nationally, rather than just because they’re local. There are great Notts acts on the bill like Dog Is Dead and Jake Bugg who will be there just because they’re brilliant and a lot of people want to see them.”

Tickets to Dot To Dot are £20 and are available by visiting www.alt-tickets.co.uk or calling 0845 413 4444.
