WIN! Tickets to NoDirection Home fest

A MAGICAL weekend of music, film, literature and food is heading for Welbeck Abbey this June and you could be in the audience with this week’s fantastic competition.

We have teamed up with the organisers of the inaugural No Direction home festival to offer two pairs of tickets to the event which runs from 8th-10th June 2012.

Brought to you by the team behind End of the Road, the enchanting festival will include a constellation of magical venues, peppered around its Domesday-listed setting of Welbeck Abbey.

Sheffield singer songwriter Richard Hawley will headline the event, along with American musician Andrew Bird and rising band The Low Anthem.

They will be supported by a range of established and up-and-coming bands such as The Cornshed Sisters, The Crookes, Euros Childs, Father John Misty, Peaking Lights, The Wave Pictures and Zulu Winter.

Festival goers will also be able to enjoy The Lost Picture Show Cinema - a glamourous and luxurious feature which will screen everything from the Victorian experiments of Georges Méliès to the slick Hollywood product of today, via 20s musicals, 60s psychedelia and 70s schlock horror; Buster Keaton, Marilyn Monroe, David Lynch, Werner Herzog and many many more.

Some of the treats in store will include brand new shorts, live re-scores, deranged documentaries and some very special live performances.

Overlooking the lake will be a Flying Boathouse, curated by The Local’s Howard Monk. Here you’ll be able to grab an ale and take in all that the Flying Boathouse Society has to offer such as instrument-making, songwriting, live bands, quiz olympics, DJs and much more.

Welbeck’s own School of Artisan Food will run a worskhop venue at the festival. It’ll offer classes throughout the day, including opportunities to learn everything from how to make butter from scratch to how to make Indian flatbreads.

Ticket prices (including camping) are £105 for an adult weekend pass, £55 for 13-17-year-olds and free for children aged 0-12.

Campervan/caravan passes are £40. For more information visit www.nodirectionhomefestival.com
