WIN! Tickets to see Company in Sheffield

THERE is a festive treat in store this week with a fabulous competition to win tickets to Sheffield Crucible’s Christmas musical Company this month.

We have teamed up with show organisers to offer four readers a pair of tickets to see the star-studded Stephen Sondheim musical on Wednesday 30th November.

It’s New York, 1970 and Robert is celebrating his 35th birthday. He has good friends, a gorgeous apartment and a girlfriend (or three) to boot.

But is he happy? As his married friends gather for his surprise party, Robert goes on a journey to discover why being alone is preventing him from being alive.

Packed with sensational songs including Getting Married Today, Side-By-Side-By-Side, The Ladies Who Lunch and Being Alive, Company is a fast-paced, funny and life-affirming exploration of love and friendship?

It features an extraordinary cast, including double Olivier Award-winner Daniel Evans, BAFTA award-winner Francesca Annis and double Olivier Award-winner Samantha Spiro, who come together to perform one of Sondheim’s most popular and loved musicals.

The line-up also includes Kelly Price (Waterloo Road, Accused - Helen’s Story), Rosalie Craig, Ian Gelder, Lucy Montgomery (Bellamy’s People), Steven Cree and Alistair Robins.

Jonathan Mumby returns to Sheffield Theatres to direct Company - his previous work includes A Number (also Menier Chocolate Factory), Bird Calls and The Comedy of Errors.

Stephen Sondheim, born in 1930, is one of the world’s greatest living composers and lyricists.

His major works include Saturday Night, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Anyone Can Whistle, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Pacific Overtures, Sweeney Todd, Merrily We Roll Along, Sunday in the Park With George (Pulitzer Prize), Into the Woods, Assassins and Bounce (re-titled Road Show).  He also wrote the lyrics for West Side Story, Gypsy and Do I Hear a Waltz?
