Louth ace Hickman prepares for Isle of Man TT challenge
Louth international road racer Peter Hickman is preparing for the Isle of Man TT races and was feeling confident ahead of the races and practice which started on Monday.
Hickman was forced to sit out the races and was sidelined for the majority of 2025 after a crash during practice at last year’s event when he was in the mix at the front of the field.
But after his strong results at the North West 200 races just three weeks ago where he picked up a win, an eighth and two fourth places in difficult weather conditions, he is feeling positive about his return to the Isle of Man.
The 14-times TT winner will be contesting all four classes again this year, riding the 8TEN Racing BMW Motorrad Superbike and Superstock machines plus the Trooper Triumph by PHR Performance in the Supersport class and the North West 200 winning House of Swan Yamaha by PHR Performance in the new Sportbike class.

Co-owner of the 8TEN Race team ,Hickman said: “I have full belief in the team and the bikes.
“I am really excited for TT 2026. Obviously last year was not what I was hoping for and its taken a lot to get back to where I am right now.
“I know I am not 100 per cent but I know I can ride a bike pretty well and I am just looking forward to enjoying riding my bike around the best track in the world”
Along with his 14 race wins to date - a tally which is equal to that of TT legend, Mike Hailwood - Hickman also holds the outright lap record holder on the public road course with a lap speed of 136.358mph set in the Superstock TT Race two in 2023 and has never finished outside the top 10 in any race he has completed since 2015.
Unfortunately, co-owner and team mate Davey Todd will not be racing at this year’s TT as he has been ruled unfit due to the injuries caused at the Daytona 200 earlier in the year.
But he is attending and will be supporting the team in the paddock.
The 2026 Isle of Man TT Races continue until Saturday, 6th June.
