A-LEVEL RESULTS: Louth Grammar School excels with an 11 per cent increase in results

Pupils at King Edward VI Grammar School in Louth were all smiles and there was even a couple of screams this morning (Thursday) as they headed out to get their A-Level results.

The students were thrilled and for some it was even a surprise to see how well they had done.

Their efforts has given the school a massive boost as the overall result standard has this year increased by 11 per cent, with pupils getting A*-B grades.

And 10 per cent of the year group have ended up getting into Oxford and Cambridge.

Headteacher of the school, James Lascelles was absolutely thrilled with the pupils performances this year.

He told The Leader: “This year’s results are superb and we have seen a good improvement on last year.

“The staff has been amazing and I can’t thank them enough for all of their hard work. All of the pupils we have here are great and I am thrilled with their achievements.

“Plus I am really chuffed to see that 10 per cent of our students have got into Oxford and Cambridge and for a small town like ours, it is fantastic.”

The head of sixth form, Nick Robertson added: “I am really happy with the set of results all of the students have received, many having surpassed all expectation.

“We have got a marked improvement on last year, we have really put a big focus on A-Level results for this year, and all of the hard work has paid off.”
