The inspectors particularly highlighted the effectiveness of senior leaders in providing challenge, guidance and support for staff, enabling them to share the aim of continuous improvement and deliver what Ofsted found were well-planned topics and themes, and to develop a strong ethos for learning.

Headteacher, Jackie Ryan, said: “We are thrilled that the inspectors agreed with our own self-evaluations and we were graded as ‘good’ in all categories, with our outstanding procedures for staff training and development being recognized, as well as Foundation Stage, Leadership and Management and our caring ethos coming out as particular strengths.

“The comments of the inspectors and the report reflect the huge journey the school has undertaken since our last inspection in June 2014 and since the amalgamation in 2013.

“We are very grateful for the incredible hard work and achievements of the entire school staff and the children and also for the continuing positivity and support of our parents and carers.”

The inspectors also found that the behaviour of pupils was good and that the school had effective and comprehensive procedures to deal with any issues. Good relationships and manners were found to be a feature of the school as was the well-judged programme of school visits offered.

Pupils told the inspectors that behaviour was always good at the school and that they had confidence that staff would sort out any difficulties that might arise and that they always felt safe and secure in school.
