Alcoholic did not listen to police officer

An alcoholic who failed to comply with the directions of a police officer has been fined.

Darren Morley, 46, was involved in an altercation in Worksop town centre around 3pm on 11th April and told by police not to return to the area for 24 hours. Worksop Magistrates’ Court was told that at 6.30pm the same day, Morley was seen drinking in a bus shelter on Gateford Road.

Defence solicitor David Grant said Morley is a homeless alcoholic.

Morely, 46, of Queen Street, Worksop, admitted failing to comply with the direction of a police officer. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge. He was also fined £40 for breaching a conditional discharge.
