Alford woman guilty of fraud charges

A woman from Alford has been committed to crown court for sentencing after pleading guilty to multiple fraud charges, which include attempting to buy a car through somebody else’s eBay account.

Charmaine Kate McAllister, 28, of John Smith Close, pleaded guilty to three counts of fraud, one count of theft and one count of attempted theft - all of which took place in Leverton on October 17 last year - when she appeared at Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday March 25.

One of the fraud charges related to accessing a woman’s eBay account and attempting to buy a car worth £6999, while another fraud charge relates to accessing the same woman’s eBay account and attempting to buy a computer worth £999.

The third fraud charge involved McAllister obtaining the bank details for the woman’s father and attempting to make £700 for herself.

The theft charge relates to McAllister stealing a handbag belonging to the woman, and the attempted theft charge relates to McAllister attempting to steal money from the woman’s bank account.

McAllister was granted unconditional bail, and she will appear at Lincoln Crown Court for sentencing at a date and time yet to be fixed.
