All 4 one in charity walk

Mothers and serving soldiers launched a 150-mile charity walk in Morton, near Gainsborough before heading to West Lindsey Liesure Centre.

Christine Bonner organised the ten-day trek in memory of her son Corporal Darren Bonner, 31, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2007 when serving with the 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment.

The walk will be from North to South, heading through Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex, ending on Sunday 21st August.

The walk is called ‘All The 4s’ because it’s ‘for the boys, for the families, for the fallen, forever,’ with the aim of walking 150 miles through four regimental counties.

Chrsitine, from Gedney, near Spalding, said: “When Darren was killed, my whole world fell apart.”

“I had to keep it together for my three daughters who had also lost their big brother.”

She continued: “Sadly, nothing can ever bring my boy back, but I have to do something positive in the light of this absolutely horrific tragedy.”

“It’s my time to walk with my Darren.”

A spokesman from the walk said: “All The 4s 2011 will be a demanding walk down the East of the Regimental Area. It will raise funds to enable The Regiment to continue to support the Regimental Family be they at war, at home, or resting in peace.”

He added: “Thank you for your support, however great or small, in our efforts to raise funds for thie very worthwhile cause - for soldiers and families in the local Infantry Regiment.”

All funds raised go the Royal Anglian Regiment Benevolent Charity.
