Allotments scoop award

Martin Hadfield’s work with the Claylands Allotments Gardeners Association has been recognised with an award from Notts County Council.

The annual Local Improvement Scheme Awards sees people from across the county honoured for their dedication and hard work in their local communities.

Martin, who is chairman of the association, was recognised for work that saw derelict allotments on the Dukeries Industrial Estate turned into fertile plots.

He said: “I’m the chairman of the association but I’m accepting the award on behalf of all the volunteers who have been involved in the project, we are very honoured to have been recognised for our efforts.”
