Ancaster scouts and cubs raise funds in Helen's memory

Scouts and cubs grabbed buckets and sponges and set about washing cars in Grantham at the weekend, to raise money in memory of a former leader who passed away in December 2014.

The fund-raiser was organised by the 1st Ancaster scouts and cubs, and their total came to £205. The money will go to the South Lincolnshire Cystic Fibrosis group.

This charity was chosen as former leader Helen Bond suffered from the condition.

Scout leader Maz Stringer said: “Our young people had a fantastic time giving something back to the shoppers at Boundary Mills.

“It’s lovely that we have been able to remember Helen, help others with the condition and have fun doing it.”

Taking part were five scouts, three cubs, four leaders and two former members, plus scouts and cubs from another group.
