Annual ramble to save our forests
The event usually takes place in March to coincide with the anniversary of the Governments u-turn in 2011 regarding selling off the public forest estate and to celebrate World Forest Day, but bad weather forced it to be rearranged.
Paddy Tipping, member of Save Sherwood Forest and president of Notts Ramblers, welcomed more than 50 people to the walk.
He told participants that they had shown the power of coming together for one common cause, but they must continue to ensure forests were properly funded both at county and national level.
During the ramble there were poetry readings and comments regarding the ongoing campaign to safeguard the public forest estate.
