The handmade creations, measuring a few inches from nose to tail, have been spotted in a range of places, such as the choir stalls and on the organ.

Angie Kisby, fabric manager at The Stump, said: “It’s so exciting. People are so enjoying them.”

When opening the church on Monday morning last week, Angie found some mice in the altar area while lighting candles, and staff have now found 14.

Angie said: “They are all over the church. They are all different and handmade.”

So far nobody has come forward publicly to claim responsibility.

Angie wants whoever is placing the mice in the church to continue doing so.
