Anston: Get set for Festival Day party

Following the success of last year’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, Anston Parish Council is holding a Picnic on the Rec to celebrate Anston Festival Day from 12 noon to 3pm on Sunday 23rd June.

Residents are invited to bring their picnic table and chairs, a picnic and their families to enjoy a community event with lots happening.

The headline attraction is Beatlemania, a Beatles tribute band.

There will be free bowls coaching on the bowling green, you can have a guided tour of Anston Stones Wood and there will be a 60s themed fancy dress competition.

Tea and coffee will be available in the Parish Hall, and ice cream on the field.

The day will also feature children’s face painting, balloon modelling, the children’s choir, quad bike races, 60s fancy dress competition, bowling lessons, an almighty tug of war and walks in Anston Stones Wood.

Admission is free.

Anston Cricket Club will also holding its annual family fun day with bouncy castle and water slide.
