Appeal after 30 more pets in care of charity

The animals were all dropped off at Foxhall Veterinary Clinic, in Ruskington.

Hart, a Sleaford based rehoming charity, put out an appeal on its Facebook page to find new owners to take care of these pets for life.

Joanna Crinks is one of many volunteers at Hart and also works at Foxhall Veterinary Clinic.

Joanna said: “The public response has been humbling. Offers of permanent homes and foster homes have been coming in thick and fast.”

But the public help does not stop with fostering or rehoming pets, as Hart needs help with looking after the pets until they go to their forever homes.

Joanna said: “We really need the public’s help with this one. Donations of food, hay, sawdust, water bottles, bowls and vet beds would be gratefully received.”

Hart visited Heckington Supplies over the weekend who have kindly supplied two bales of hay, two large bags of carrots, one bag of guinea pig food, two large bags of shavings, four water bottles and 12 feeding bowls.

These donations are warmly received, but the supply will not last long so Hart is still asking for donations.

Any donations can be dropped off at Foxhall Veterinary Clinic in Ruskington, in Brookside Close, where they will be distributed to Hart volunteers.

A just-giving page has been set up for people to donate to, which has so far received £182 in funds.

Donations can be made via Just-Giving by searching for Joanna Crinks.

Hart adoption fees for guinea pigs are £10 and for rabbits, the adoption fee is £25 for one rabbit or £40 for two.

The rabbits will be checked, neutered and vaccinated before they go to their new homes.

The process once you have chosen the animal you would like to adopt is that a home visit is arranged.

Following a successful visit, a consent form must be signed to confirm the adoption process.

The final step is to arrange collection of your new furry friend and take them home.

Two weeks after this, there will be a follow up call to check on how your new addition is settling in.
