Appeal for witnesses after Creswell assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was threatened and another assaulted in the street in Creswell.

The incident happened around 6pm in Morven Street on Wednesday 16th November,

A 25-year-old man was walking along Creswell when two men approached him and threatened him with what he described as a wooden weapon. They then got into a car and drove off.

A short time later two cars collided on Morven Street. After the collision a 48-year-old local man, who had been travelling in one of the cars, was allegedly assaulted as he tried to get out of the car. He sustained two large cuts on his head which required 12 stitches.

A 35-year-old woman was also injured in the disturbance.

Two men aged 29 and 32 were arrested in connection with this incident and were released on police bail after questioning.
