Art centre will be bowled over if it scores a hat trick

The centre has been shortlisted three years on the trot and won in 2013 and 2014. The centre needs your vote.

If 20 21 wins, the centre will work with renowned artist Luke Jerram to host a Museums at Night event on October 30 based on the theme of ‘1,000 clocks’.

Luke Jerram is known worldwide for his large scale public engagement artworks. Most recently, his giant installation Park and Slide caught the world’s imagination. His celebrated street piano installation ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ has been presented in over 46 cities so far, reaching an audience to date of over six million people around the world.

The winning venue will be decided by online public voting – from 11am Friday May 1 to 8pm Saturday May 16. Winners will be announced at 9pm Saturday May 16.

If successful, the event is likely to involve a number of elements although the exact format is decided between the winning venue and the artist following a site visit. This could include:

The clock tower of the former Church of St John’s and why it only has three faces

The work of John Harrison, an 18 Century clockmaker who revolutionised sea travel and lived in North Lincolnshire

Visitors own stories, timepieces and memories

And if we can track it down, the British Steel Clock that stood outside the Binns Department store near Market Hill between 1971 and 1993.
